The Amazon is the largest river in South America and also one of the biggest rivers in the world. It begins at Foz do Iguaçu, Argentina and flows 5,500 miles (almost 10,500 kilometers) through Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. For many Americans it is known as the Amazon River because it flows into the Atlantic Ocean near to where Miami is located. During my recent trip to Xingu National Park in Brazil I was lucky enough to see some picturesque scenery of this metropolis that straddles its banks. I’m going to show you a few pictures of the beautiful scenery that I saw during my trip. A boat takes a tourist for a ride through the Amazon River. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife including many birds that live in the forest and other creatures that live in the waters around Xingu’s rivers and lakes. It is also a great place to hire a bike and go for a ride alongside the river bank or take out a boat and have yourself a boat cruise along its river banks. It is a major tributary of the Amazon River and is very important to the environment, as it provides a habitat for many species that exist in its waters.
